Betjeman's Oxford Guided Walk
Sir John Betjeman began a long association with Oxford when he arrived at the Dragon School in 1917 as a 10 year old. Here his passion for architecture, churches and a sense of place was sparked, as was his poetry writing. Starting outside the Dragon School and concluding at the Painted Room which was OPT’s office when he was briefly Secretary in the late 1940s. With relevant readings of prose and poetry along the way, visiting places he knew well, join Andrew McCallum, Vice Chairman of the Betjeman Society, as he leads this walk celebrating Betjeman’s Oxford connections.
