Falcon Boat Club

Drop-in

Founded in 1869, Falcon is one of the oldest boat clubs in the country, and in 2022 opened a new boathouse, providing state-of-the-art facilities for hundreds of kayakers, canoeists and rowers from all over Oxford as well as a base for outreach activities in our local community and schools.

During Open Doors 2024 we will be offering guided tours of the boathouse, as well as hosting a photography exhibition.

  • Tours will run every half hour starting at 11am until 2pm each day (last tour starting 1:30pm).
  • "Tales from the Riverbank", is a photo exhibition by Ox1Collective (@ox1collective) dedicated to capturing the everyday interactions between people and the river with a focus on the last summer eights. The photographs offer a glimpse into the river's role in daily life, highlighting its significance as a natural resource and a place for recreation and well-being. We hope this collection provides an insightful look into the ways the river supports and enriches our lives.

Partially accessible - A wheelchair lift is available, but users require help getting to and around the building over gravel.
