Castle and Mound

Oxford Archaeology at Old County Hall

Drop-in

Come along to see the archaeology of Oxford in 10 digs with finds displays, tours and talks. Carl Champness will be giving a lunchtime talk on Saturday at 1pm to 2pm (no need to book, but spaces will be limited on a first come first served basis). We will be sharing the room with the Historic Towns Atlas team so do come along to meet them and view their maps. Tours around the area of the castle with a unique look at what was there in the past will be running through the day.

Dig boxes will be available for children to have a go at being an archaeologist.

Partially accessible - Ramp to main site and access to Court Room. No disabled access to holding cells and tunnel.
