Easter trails in OPT Green Spaces 2025
Looking for activities out in nature over Easter? We have trails set up in two of our green spaces for all to enjoy as well as range of walks in and around Oxford.
What you need to know:
📆 When: Saturday 5th April to Monday 21st April
📌 Where: Wolvercote Lakes & Jarn Mound, Wild Garden & Heath on Boars Hill
🥚 What: Hunt for the wooden eggs, spot the letters and unscramble the mystery words. At Boars Hill there's an extra challenge, with clues to solve to help you find the eggs.
If you still have time and energy to spare, there are other nearby OPT Green Spaces to visit and walks to enjoy:
Boars Hill: Walking distance from the trail is Matthew Arnold Field & Reserve, check out the valley fen restoration and see if you can spot any tadpoles. Also close by are views of the Dreaming Spires from the Old Berkeley Golf Course and the beautiful bluebells emerging in Abraham Wood.
Wolvercote Lakes: Take some time at the Lakes to check out the new pond made by our team of volunteers with funding support from Grundon Waste Management via Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment. Walking distance from the lakes, towards Godstow, is the Wolvercote Community Orchard which has a range of fruit trees, well worth visiting to see the stunning blossom.
See the links below for information on both areas, details of the trails and a plan showing Sir Arthur Evans' 1933 design of the Jarn Mound & Wild Garden which might be helpful when it comes to solving the clues....
