The OPT Awards have officially closed for this year, with a remarkable array of entries now in the hands of the judges. The OPT Awards celebrate projects of all sizes and types, highlighting the importance of conservation and innovative design in maintaining Oxford's unique character. With six diverse categories— Building Conservation, New Buildings, Small Projects, Landscape & Public Realm, Temporary Projects, and the Green Award — there's an opportunity for everyone to showcase their contributions to the city's heritage.

The winners will be announced in November, but for those eager for an earlier taste of the excitement, OPT is hosting an event on Thursday 4 July at All Souls College which will be a talk about the incredible Monuments and Memorials Project that won a plaque 2023.

Veronika Vlková, Director of Mareva Conservation will discuss the award-winning project that commenced in 2011, which used groundbreaking conservation techniques, including specially developed lasers, to clean and restore thirty-three historic monuments. These monuments, with their varied materials and historical importance, required meticulous attention to address issues like loose or missing stone sections, damaged polychromy, and layers of accumulated grime.

Join us at All Souls College for this exclusive event, and gain insights into the intricate processes behind preserving Oxford's historical treasures.
