John Stevenson RIBA

Chair of the Planning Committee

John has lived in Oxford for 40 years. He qualified as an architect at the Architectural Association School in London, and came to Oxford to practice and to teach architecture at the Oxford School of Architecture, where he became Principal Lecturer and Head of Design.

John’s late wife Anne Stevenson was a teacher at the Oxford Childrens’ Hospital School at the John Radcliffe, and John’s daughter, son and grandson were all born at the JR.

John is passionate about contemporary architecture and its impact on the historic city, and supports good sustainable design at every level. He was awarded a Plaque by OPT for his restoration of Corpus Christi Farmhouse in Littlemore. Subsequently he has served as an Environmental Awards judge for OPT, and member of the OPT Planning Committee. He is a Trustee of Sunningwell School of Art.
