
Green Spaces Volunteering - Heyford Meadow - OCV weekend task
All ages and abilities are welcome.
At Heyford Meadow, Oxford Conservation Volunteers (OCV) will be cutting and clearing areas of the scrub in the meadow and building an otter holt.
Meet at 9.30am on the boardwalk.
Access to the meadow is though the playground off Broadhurst Gardens (cul-de-sac), or via walking down the green vehicle entrance off Heyford Hill road opposite Pheasant Walk (please note this vehicle entrance is only open for volunteering days and is only to be used by vehicles from OPT and approved contractors).
Cycling: You can walk your bikes into site and lock them up near the OCV minibus.
Buses: 3A or river Rapids X39 or River Rapids X40 from Oxford High Street
Parking: Free on street parking on Heyford Hill Lane
Please bring your own gardening gloves, hydration, a snack, sturdy shoes/boots, and weather suitable layers. No experience necessary. Tools will be provided. Nearest toilets are in at Sandford Talking Shop (15 min walk).
For a task with OCV, please sign up to their mailing list so that you're sent the task details nearer the time. Please also read the risk assessment below. OCV will lead the task and will give additional safety instructions on the day.
