40 for 40
The OPT Awards were launched in 1977 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Trust. In 2017, OPT Launched “40 4 40,” a chance to celebrate the fantastic winners of the Awards over the past 40 years.
Over 5 weeks, the Oxford Times featured previous winners of the Awards, from 1977 to 2017. Once all winners were featured, readers of the Oxford Times were able to vote for their favourite project.
OPT were delighted to discover that the runaway winner, with 25% of the votes, was Oxford Castle (2007).
One reader stated: ‘I voted for Oxford Castle as it has transformed the area and provides lasting enjoyment and interest for everyone.’
‘It marks a great achievement by the Oxford Preservation Trust’.
